Notes for Authors

Submitted papers should not have been previously published nor be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. All papers are refereed through a double blind process. Submissions to the journal are assessed by independent referees who make recommendations on the suitability of the articles for publication. We are committed to providing timely assessment of articles and authors are informed of the publication decision as soon as possible.

You may send one copy in the form of an MS Word file attached to an e-mail to:

The following guidelines are to be respected:

1. The language of the JASE is English.

2. SI units should be used wherever possible.

3. Manuscripts should be typed, with double spacing throughout (including references), on A4 size paper, leaving ample margins.

4. All mathematical symbols and equations should be typed using equations editor (use the default editor settings).

5. Colours in figures should be avoided unless they are indispensable.

6. Tables should be designed as Image word without vertical lines.

7. Scanned figures and diagrams are not accepted if they are not of acceptable clarity.

8. The preferred order of contents is as follows:

(a) Title of article.

(b) Author(s) name(s) and business address.

(c) Abstract of not more than 200 words: covering the aims of the work, methods used, results obtained and conclusions reached; keywords for information retrieval purposes should be indicated.

(d) keywords for information retrieval purposes should be indicated.

(e) Body of the paper: organized into logical sections, sequentially numbered with no more than two grades of subheadings.

(f) Acknowledgements.

(g) References in the order to which they have been referred in the text [1, 2]. For example:

(h) Tables: these should be numbered consecutively throughout the text using Arabic numbers.

(i) Captions for the illustrations which should also be numbered consecutively throughout the text using Arabic numbers; both line drawings and photographs must be included in the same numbering sequence.

It is the policy of the JASE to own the copyright to the technical contributions that it publishes on behalf of the interests of the JASE, its authors, and their employers, and to facilitate the appropriate reuse of this material to others.

Page charges and Reprint:

There will be no page charges for publication in the JASE, but there will be reprint charges to defray part of the publication cost. 10 copies of reprints are provided to the authors that honour these charges.
